writer/graphic-designer/digital-artist/photgrapher/web-monkey/teacher/overall geeky person/random force of nature.

Don't ask where I'm from; it's complicated. Born to Pakistani parents in Hong Kong when it was still a colony. Moved to Kenya when I was eight; moved to Australia when I was 20. Still searching for 'home'.

I dabble in various forms, but my first loves have always been photography and writing (not necessarily in that order). I take pictures that remind me of how amazing the world is around me, and write poems about the secret, extraordinary lives I imagine for ordinary people.

I help to maintain the Koroga Project, a collaboration between Kenyan poets and photographers that focuses on telling 'Another African Story' through voices and images being brought to life by the artists who talk about the worlds they immerse themselves in daily, real or otherwise.

I also have a deep-seated love for anything and everything to do with Studio Ghibli's 1988 film Totoro. Actually, almost anything and everything by Ghibli. If you look carefully, you might find a few random references throughout the site.

Human.
